Asphalt And Concrete Plants

Farallon managed the environmental due diligence for a national construction company client for a portfolio of properties in eastern Washington and Oregon under consideration for purchase and development. The project included conducting Phase I Environmental Site Assessments for approximately 20 properties with aggregate pits, hot-mix asphalt plants, and/or ready-mix concrete plants to evaluate recognized environmental conditions in accordance with ASTM International Standard E1527-05. The findings of the Phase I ESAs were used to develop and implement scopes of work for conducting subsurface investigations at the facilities.

The results of the subsurface investigations at each facility were used to provide a basis for evaluating the costs associated with remediation or risk management of hazardous materials identified at the facilities under consideration for purchase and development. Recommendations provided to the client included an estimate of the quantities of media requiring remediation or risk management, a summary of the remedial alternatives considered and the remedial alternative selected, and a cost- estimate range to implement the selected remedial alternative.
