Fun Facts
Laura lives in San Jose, California, where she attended high school and college. She loves being a part of the Mexican-American community and enjoys attending cultural events where she can indulge on all the things she loves about her culture, including the food, music, and dancing. She grew up as a city kid but became passionate about geology and the outdoors after visiting Yosemite National Park while in college. After noticing a lack of diversity on the trails and parks, she developed a passion for introducing other Latinx people to camping, hiking, and backpacking. Her favorite thing in the world is sitting around a campfire surrounded by family and friends.
