Farallon Consulting is proud to support the City of Whittier on an important environmental investigation and cleanup effort funded through the Equitable Community Revitalization Grant (ECRG) Program, administered by the California Department of Toxic Substances Control (DTSC). The ECRG Program is designed to help communities address legacy contamination at underutilized or impacted properties, reducing environmental risk while creating pathways for safe and sustainable redevelopment. Through this grant, the City of Whittier is advancing critical site investigation activities to better understand subsurface conditions and evaluate potential remedial approaches that support long-term community goals.
Farallon’s role on the project includes providing technical environmental consulting services to support subsurface investigation activities, including environmental sampling, data evaluation, and pilot-scale testing. This work helps characterize site conditions, assess the presence and extent of contamination, and inform potential cleanup strategies consistent with regulatory requirements and community priorities.

Projects like this require close coordination among local agencies, state regulators, and technical consultants. Farallon works collaboratively with DTSC and the City of Whittier to ensure investigation activities are performed efficiently, data are clearly communicated, and next steps are grounded in sound science and regulatory best practices. The outcome is actionable information that enables informed decision-making and supports future revitalization planning.

This project reflects Farallon’s broader commitment to helping public-sector clients navigate complex environmental challenges while advancing redevelopment opportunities that benefit communities. From investigation through cleanup planning, our team brings deep experience working under California regulatory programs and supporting projects where environmental protection and community outcomes go hand in hand.
