Farallon obtained regulatory closure for a sustainable farm in Oregon.

Waterfront Restaurant

Farallon conducted a Phase I Environmental Site Assessment of a waterfront restaurant with outdoor patios in support of a refinancing transaction initiated by the restaurant business owner.  The restaurant had operated from the same location in a building leased from the Port of Bellingham since the late 1980s. Among the site assessment activities Farallon conducted at the facility was inspection of the restaurant’s kitchen, including practices for handling and disposing of waste oil and grease.

Asphalt And Concrete Plants

Farallon managed the environmental due diligence for a national construction company client for a portfolio of properties in eastern Washington and Oregon under consideration for purchase and development.

Northwest Municipality

Farallon conducted multiple Phase I ESAs for the City of Bellingham Parks and Recreation Department  in support of possible property purchases for future development as public parks.

Industrial Property

Farallon managed and conducted a Phase I ESA and a Phase II Subsurface Investigation at a Seattle property consisting of six industrial buildings and surrounding storage yard areas.  Site businesses included a sheet metal fabricator, an aircraft fabricator, and a heavy equipment transmission repair facility.

Phase I ESAs And Phase II Investigations

Farallon has performed and managed Phase I ESAs and Phase II subsurface investigations for residential, commercial, agricultural, and industrial properties in Washington State and across the Pacific Northwest. Projects have ranged from assessment of an individual property to multiple Phase I ESAs conducted simultaneously to evaluate risks associated with potential property transactions.  Based on Farallon’s recommendations, Phase I ESAs have been supplemented with surveys for asbestos, radon, and lead-based paint.

Truck Servicing Facility

Farallon was engaged by a national real estate investment trust of San Francisco to perform environmental due diligence on a 1960s-era truck servicing facility in Oakland, California. The Phase I ESA conducted by Farallon revealed numerous current and historical housekeeping violations, and prior assessment documents identified impact to soil by petroleum-related constituents.  Farallon’s review of documentation of a historical leaking underground storage tank on the property determined that soil and groundwater had not been adequately screened for chlorinated solvents.
