Lael is an environmental specialist with over 10 years of experience in stormwater compliance, site inspections, Stormwater Pollution Control Plan preparation, and best management practices application at industrial and manufacturing sites. She has contributed to work in the oil and gas industry, including developing oil spill contingency plans for clients. Prior to that, she served as a geographic information system and remote sensing analyst in a support role for principal investigators at a remote research field camp in the Brooks Range of Alaska.
Lael is an avid orchid grower and backyard gardener. When not tending to plants, she tends to her four cats and daughter, not necessarily in that order. In the wee hours of the morning, she can be found lap swimming and has participated in the Columbia Cross-Channel swim on multiple occasions. In addition to aquatic and terrestrial hobbies, Lael enjoys playing any sort of word game, especially the classics, Scrabble and Boggle. One of her most memorable jobs was the summer spent working in a fire lookout tower in the Salmon National Forest, Idaho.
