Jeff Kaspar and Amy Essig Desai Become Partners of Farallon

Farallon is pleased to announce that Senior Project Manager Jeffrey Kaspar and Senior Environmental Scientist Amy Essig Desai have become partners of Farallon Consulting. In their new roles, they will contribute to corporate decision-making and help provide direction for the growing firm, while continuing to serve clients in their capacity as Project Managers.  Farallon congratulates Jeff and Amy on this notable accomplishment.

Jeff is an integral part of the Farallon team, serving as Senior Project Manager and technical lead for a broad spectrum of environmental investigations, remediation, site hazard assessments, and insurance evaluations. During his 19 years in the environmental consulting industry, Jeff has managed projects for commercial and industrial clients; federal, state, and local government and defense agencies; school districts; real estate agencies and developers; and attorneys throughout the Pacific Northwest.

Jeff’s expertise and experience in the natural attenuation of petroleum hydrocarbons and chlorinated solvents prompted the Washington State Department of Ecology to invite him to serve as co-instructor for training sessions related to Ecology’s 2005 Guidance on Remediation of Petroleum-Contaminated Groundwater by Natural Attenuation. Jeff also developed the Northwest Environmental Training Center's course on natural attenuation of petroleum hydrocarbons and chlorinated solvents, and has served as an instructor for that organization. A Licensed Geologist and Hydrogeologist and the Manager of Farallon’s Geology/Hydrogeology Group, Jeff has been with the firm for 8 years.

Amy is one of Farallon’s leading Senior Managers, providing superior service and technical support to Farallon clients on a diverse array of large-scale projects. Amy has over 11 years of experience in environmental due diligence, environmental investigations, site cleanups, and environmental compliance audits.  She has managed multi-million dollar projects under CERCLA, RCRA, and MTCA requirements.  Her professional experience includes project scope and objectives development, RI/FS and remedial action program planning and management, project plan preparation, field program management, data compilation and interpretation, and agency negotiations.  Her experience also includes technical services for litigation support and cost-allocation determination for sites with multiple responsible parties. Amy heads Farallon’s Environmental Sciences Group and has been with the firm for 6 years.

“The promotions of Jeff and Amy are integral to the long-term strategic goals of Farallon to provide employees with opportunities for career growth and ensure Farallon’s continued stability and technical expertise to provide high-quality environmental consulting services to clients. Farallon’s partners recognize that these opportunities are necessary to attract and retain the best technical professionals in the industry.” Cliff Schmitt, Founding Partner

“We are excited that Jeff and Amy have become partners at Farallon. They bring a wealth of energy and experience that will be instrumental to direct Farallon into the future.” Peter Jewett, Founding Partner
