Chris Houck, P.E., Joins Farallon
Farallon proudly introduces Mr. Christian E. Houck, P.E., as a Principal Engineer. Chris joins Farallon with 24 years of experience in the environmental consulting industry, specializing in remedial investigations, feasibility studies, cleanup actions, conceptual remediation system design, and litigation and mediation technical support involving sediment, soil, and groundwater site cleanups conducted under MTCA, RCRA, and CERCLA. Chris’ technical specialties include contaminated sediment investigation with experience in evaluating and implementing sediment remedies. He has experience in the design and installation of subaqueous caps and evaluating their long-term effectiveness. Chris has extensive experience in the design, implementation, and ongoing maintenance and optimization of remediation systems, remediation construction management, Brownfield site development, and transactional due diligence. In addition, Chris has a background in strategic regulatory planning, stakeholder coordination, and client partnering.
For the past year, Chris has managed the implementation of a complex MTCA cleanup in the Cascade Mountains working under a consent decree with Ecology. This work included management of a team of over 20 staff, regulatory negotiations, stakeholder management, support of legal claims, system maintenance and evaluation of existing remedial systems, wetland restoration and monitoring, and removal of impacted media.
Chris earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Environmental Engineering at SUNY College of Environmental Science and Forestry/Syracuse University. He is a registered Professional Engineer in Washington, Alaska, and Indiana.
