Farallon Welcomes Thomas Long

Farallon is pleased to announce that Thomas E. Long has accepted the position of Engineering Technician in Farallon’s Issaquah office.  During his 15 years in the environmental consulting industry, Tom has specialized in industrial wastewater treatment plant operations, stormwater and industrial waste management, and SPCC and SWPPP compliance.  Tom has implemented a range of stormwater BMPs at various corporate sites, and has conducted training for stormwater management contractors and in fulfillment of Facility Response Plan training requirements.  His background in SPCC and SWPPP compliance includes inspection, sampling, and resolution of issues at nine large industrial operating facilities between Tacoma and Everett.

Tom’s coursework and training includes mechanical engineering, and water and wastewater treatment and management operations.  He has experience constructing and testing scale hydraulic models and supervising asbestos-abatement projects.  Additional work experience involves the design and drafting of mechanical systems for diverse applications in support of systems operations.

In his position with Farallon, Tom is providing operations support for a major corporation in the transportation sector.  Responsibilities include overseeing the operation and maintenance of the on-site wastewater treatment plant, conducting effluent sampling and providing documentation to demonstrate compliance with discharge permit requirements, and identifying opportunities to improve operation efficiency and ensure safe work practices.

Tom is recognized as a valuable addition to Farallon’s technical staff.  His range of qualifications and experience enable him to support Farallon clients in a host of wastewater treatment and stormwater and waste management needs.
