Tina Huff Panelist at Due Diligence Summit

Farallon’s Associate Regulatory Specialist Tina Huff served as a panelist at the invitation-only Environmental Data Resources, Inc. Summit May 16 through 18, 2011 in Las Vegas, Nevada. The Summit is an annual gathering where environmental due diligence leaders exchange ideas, learn of recent industry developments, and strategize for the future. Approximately 100 professionals from the due diligence community took part in this year’s event on the theme: “Building Momentum–Finding a Plan in Real Estate’s Next Up Cycle.”
The panel Tina participated on highlighted ASTM International Standard E1527-05, Standard Practice for Environmental Site Assessments: Phase I Environmental Site Assessment Process (Standard E1527-05). Titled “E1527-05–On the Verge of Revision,” this session focused on the modifications being considered for the current standard practice and possible implications of such modifications. All of these Summit panelists are members of the ASTM Task Group evaluating Standard E1527-05 and proposed revisions. As a voting member of the ASTM E50 Committee overseeing Environmental Assessment and a participant in the E1527 Task Group and two related focus groups, Tina is well qualified to update Summit attendees on Standard E1527-05 status and recent discussions.
Individual panelists shared first-hand experiences from their involvement deliberating specific modifications facing Standard E1527-05 as it stands at an important crossroads during its 5-year review now in progress. Tina’s specific role on the panel was to discuss:
· Current Standard E1527-05 requirements pertaining to historical recognized environmental conditions and ........de minimis conditions;
· The general bases for proposed revisions and the kinds of debate surrounding these proposals; and
· Her perspective on the implications of future changes to Standard E1527-05.
