Mr. Grabau has over 21 years of professional experience, including environmental project management and support services throughout the western United States. His areas of expertise include soil and groundwater remediation cleanup actions, hydrogeologic site characterization, and soil and groundwater contamination assessment. Additional specialty areas encompass MTCA, RCRA, and CERCLA regulatory compliance, RI/FSs, regulatory agency negotiations, and stormwater management. Mr. Grabau also has extensive experience with MTCA cleanups in Whatcom County and the City of Bellingham, including project management of the construction oversight for the Little Squalicum Park Removal Action conducted in 2010. In addition, he has managed large- and small-scale landfill removal and stabilization projects. His responsibilities with Farallon include all aspects of environmental project planning and reporting, coordination of engineering design, regulatory negotiations, field operation supervision, data interpretation and quality assurance review, and coordination of contractors and subcontractors. Mr. Grabau is a Washington State-Licensed Geologist and Hydrogeologist and has managed Farallon’s Bellingham office since its 2001 opening.
When he is not holding down the blue line on his hockey team or helping out with his son’s practices on the ice at the Bellingham Sportsplex, Mr. Grabau can be found at the Northwest Soccer Park watching his boys learn the art of futbol. As a hockey dad, he can provide driving directions to dozens of ice rinks in the lower British Columbia Mainland. A lifelong outdoor enthusiast, Mr. Grabau enjoys fly fishing, bird hunting, biking, boating, and gardening, and on rare occasions still straps on his telemark skis. Evenings he can be found practicing his guitar and driving his family crazy.
